Favorite go-to restaurant for authentic classic dim sum and Chinese dishes. Huge selection of dim sum items and big menu to choose from for the main dishes. Large portions, reasonable prices and great service. The food is always so good and consistent. The ladies working are friendly and polite. Reservations are usually the best way to get a table since they can get quite busy or call ahead for take-out because wait time can be long.

Update as of May 21, 2025: The food as always is of absolute BEST! The staff are very hardworking, welcoming and very caring! Big shoutout to Cyprus, Maggie, Alex, Ms Tan and the whole team! Keep up the exemplary job! I just ordered over the phone and I was answered by the most kind and friendly lady who took time to explain to me the ingredients on the menu that I was asking and she also granted my favor not to put MSG. I felt very satisfied that I was not rushed. When I came to pick up my order, she even came to me and gave me a free warm tea while waiting. Thank you sooo much ALTHEA for going well above and beyond in serving your customers. Kudos to you and to this original vegetarian restaurant as spearheaded by also the nicest owner, KEN!

Had such a great dinner here as first time patrons, thanks to our Plant Curious subscription. Had the Beancurd Skin Roll in Black Bean Sauce (20.50), Pan-fried Vermicelli Traditional Style (19.50), Chef's Special Fried Rice (19.50), and Three Kinds of Mushroom & Taro Hot Pot (19.50). Our favourite dishes were the fried rice and beancurd, but everything was delicious, and we thought the portions were great for the cost. We typically wouldn't order beancurd at a Chinese restaurant, but were all impressed with the flavour. They offer a choice of tea at the start, and complimentary red bean soup (or cookies) at the end. Food came out promptly. Takeout containers cost 0.50; after checking the receipt at home, I think we were overcharged as we only received 2 but were charged for 3. Aside from that, service was excellent and very friendly. They checked in on our meal, refilled tea, etc. When they brought out the hot pot, the server/chef enthusiastically warned us about how hot the metal pot was, and to be careful. There were a couple small mix-ups as we told a male server who sat us which tea we wanted, but we never received it. Once a female server came to our table, that was rectified. Similarly at the end, we asked for a takeout container and gave our dessert selection to one server, but this was fulfilled once asked by a different server shortly after. If you pay with credit card, there's an additional 1.5% charge (they're transparent about this when asked). Had such a hearty meal here with leftovers to spare. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend! It was very busy for a weekend dinner, for good reason.

Dinner with some friends who are vegetarian and they introduced to Sun Bo Kong Vegetarian Restaurant on Kingsway. The menus is so extensive and everything so was delicious and I need to come back to try other dishes. We ordered: - Spinach Thick Soup: beautiful presentation with green and white ying yang symbol on the surface. The soup was so savoury I had another helping. - Deep Fried Taro Roll: I love taro and this was nice twist as it's deep fried - Tofu and Broccoli: Was a customized request for me, and it's not on the menu - Baked Fried Rice with Pumpkin and Cheese: I don't tend to eat pumpkin as savory dish and this was my hubby's favourite dish - Chili & Pepper Deep Fried Fresh Oyster Mushroom - I do not like mushroom but I take a bite just to try and well, I ate the rest of it! I guess when you deep fry anything, it just taste wonderful :) - Dessert: Tapioca Pudding - always one my favourite Chinese dessert The service was wonderful as the staff we took our order helped us decide what to order with what we like and what the staff recommending. For a weekday evening, the restaurant was quite busy. We had a wonderful dinner catching up with dear friends, dinng together with delicious vegetarian food.

This restaurant is one of my absolute favourites in Vancouver! A total must-try! Whether you are a vegetarian or not this restaurant will impress you. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home, and the food is absolutely delicious. From the amazing fried rice to the fresh and flavorful Chow Mein, everything tastes amazing. It’s all made with fresh ingredients and you can really taste the love in every dish. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for tasty, plant-based Chinese food!

Wholey dim sum! Felt like we were in Texas with the size of these dishes. VERY generous portions! The staff were very friendly and helped us modify our order to fit the size of our group. I appreciated their candidness. They helped us prevent a lot of food waste. The Pan Fried Eggplant, Steamed Rice Flour Rolls with Chinese Donut, and Steamed Charcoal Buns with Taro Paste were AMAZING!! Still thinking about them weeks later. Would skip the Siu Mai next time. Not because it wasn’t delicious but solely because it was hard to eat. They stuck together and would fall apart when trying to pick them up. Overall amazing meal. Nearly forgot everything was vegetarian!

Tried this 100% vegetarian Chinese resto tonight for the first time and I can say immediately we will for sure be back, and often! What an awesome place— you must try the (veggie) super spicy won tons— wow!! Who cares about meat, these won tons definitely prove you don’t need meat— they were perfect, delicious, and totally soy based apparently. That for sure is a dish to order again and again on return visits— trust me you’ll see what I mean! Also had bean curd with mushrooms and snow peas, and tofu with broccoli and enoki mushrooms — everything was perfect! I very highly recommend this place and will for sure be back to try lots more of the menu. I asked for “very low salt” and they complied, with everything tasting just right. Very friendly staff and they clearly value customer’s business! I love the local family vibe and will be back, soon! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
